About Prague 6

Prague 6 is the city’s largest municipal district, covering about 41.5 km² in the north-west. It includes Dejvice, Střešovice, Vokovice, Veleslavín, Liboc and Ruzyně, and parts of Břevnov, Bubeneč, Sedlec and Hradčany. The administrative district, which we use to group clinics, also includes Lysolaje, Nebušice, Přední Kopanina, Suchdol and Prague 17 (Řepy).

The district runs from Hradčany out to Václav Havel Airport, which is also in Prague 6. It contains Břevnov Monastery, the Hvězda game reserve and the Strahov student dormitories.

Where the clinics are

  • Dejvice and Bubeneč: around Vítězné náměstí, Dejvická and Hradčanská, and the quieter villa streets of Bubeneč and Baba.
  • Střešovice and Ořechovka: residential streets between Dejvice and Břevnov, reachable by tram.
  • Břevnov and Liboc: along Bělohorská, the long road leading west towards Bílá Hora.
  • Vokovice and Veleslavín: along the road to the airport (Evropská), near the newer metro stations.

Getting to a dentist in Prague 6

Metro line A runs through the district, with stations at Hradčanská, Dejvická, Bořislavka, Nádraží Veleslavín and Petřiny. Dejvická is about ten minutes from Můstek. Trams cover the areas between the stations. Vítězné náměstí is a major tram hub, and lines run along Bělohorská to Břevnov and out to Petřiny and Řepy. Nádraží Veleslavín and Bořislavka are on the way to the airport, so a clinic here can be convenient if you are travelling.

One clinic here notes that it is in a blue (residents’) parking zone. If you plan to drive, ask your clinic where to park.

Choosing a dentist in Prague 6

  • Languages. Prague 6 has some of the most multilingual clinics in our directory. Several state that they treat patients in English, and some list German, French, Spanish and other languages too. Check each profile for the languages the clinic confirms.
  • Families. Several clinics here treat children as well as adults, and one family clinic group has a branch in Dejvice. Use the treatment filter to find clinics that list children’s dentistry.
  • Insurance. Some clinics in Prague 6 have contracts with VZP and other public insurers. Others, including clinics that serve international patients, are private and don’t work with public insurers. If you rely on public insurance or a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), choose a contracted clinic.
  • New patients. Some clinics here say they are accepting new patients. Ask how long it is until a first appointment.
